There were many things to do today and my departure for Mexico did not start until 2 pm. I rode through down town San Diego, past the new Convention Center and South on Harbor Boulevard.
This ride took me by the Navy Base which brought back memories of my Naval Boot Camp training in 1952. They no longer train new recruits in this facility and all of the training is done in the Great Lakes
Training Facility.
The surface of the Harbor Boulevard is really rough and broken up until you reach the Naval Base where the surface of the road is smooth and easy to ride on. Once again the Coastal Highway does a disappearing act where the road leads you to the North and South lanes for Interstate 5.
It was late in the afternoon and I made the decision to put off until tomorrow the final leg of my trip. I returned to the motel showered, had dinner, and went to bed.
