George Ledbetter, age 72, is riding his bicycle across America (again)
about 2,300 miles - This time to raise money for ChildHelp USA.
Easy Riding

Today was a fairly short, easy day of riding. Basically I was testing out my body to make sure everything was working well. My right shoulder is a little sore but other than that everything seems to working well. The newly turned up bicycle is working extremely well.

I met a delightful couple in Half Moon Bay, Ian and Debra, owners of a garden business. They were really nice and invited me to spend the night with them at their home in Half Moon Bay. I was delighted, without a camera, to record them as my Good Samaritan of the Day.

However earlier in the afternoon, John, the Harbor Master of the County Marina offered me the opportunity to park the Jeep in their RV area “on the county”. I felt obligated to take John’s offer and spent the night at the Marina.

It was a great ride south on Highway 1 with great views of the Pacific Ocean. What a way to spend a few hours, riding along the California Coast watching the birds, waves, and people enjoying the beaches.

Miles for day: 36
