George Ledbetter, age 72, is riding his bicycle across America (again)
about 2,300 miles - This time to raise money for ChildHelp USA.
On to Crescent City

Departed from Harris State Park North of Port Orford, Oregon and rode to Crescent City, Ca. Let me tell you that it is a thrill for me to ride across the border into California. California here I am and Mexico here I come! No habla espaniol.

It was cold and damp this morning with the fog rolling in from the ocean. I rode about 4 miles and made a decision to stop to have a cup of coffee and a role and warm up. I was leaving when Justin and Joanne arrived at the coffee shop.

Justin was having trouble with the rear wheel and tire of his bicycle and they decided to hang it up and stop their ride when they got to Crescent City and drive back to Portland. They were pleased with their first long distance bicycle trip. We exchanged cards and agreed to keep in touch.

I continued on to Crescent City after my coffee and was chilled to the bone by the the time I connected with Marty. He was parked in front of the visitor center and that is where we stayed for the night.

Marty asked me to join him for a ride around Crescent City. It was a nice ride and we saw some beautiful homes along the shore line of the city. The wind picked up and by the time we arrived back at Tork and Wally I needed to warm up my hands to move them.
