Cotage Grove

July 2nd & 3rd

Cottage Grove, Oregon

Two of my good friends, Marty and Deann Plocher live in Cottage Grove, Oregon. They invited me to stay with them over the 4th. I really did not want to ride my bicycle on the highway over the 4th. I drove to Cottage Grove and spent two days with my friends at their beautiful 5 acre homestead. We had a great time visiting.

Marty showed me his new wood shop in his barn. Marty it an outstanding craftsman and did an outstanding job creating his new wood working shop with all new tools to help him with new projects. We went on an 11 mile bicycle ride on the 4th and then went to a potluck with their friends from church. It is always a pleasure visiting these two friends.

Then Marty told me he would like to be my "pit crew" for part of the ride down the Oregon Coast. We cleaned his travel trailer, hooked it to his Dodge Ram 2500 Turbo diesel and took off for Reedsport. My pit crew dropped me off and parked the vehicle at a camp site approximately 50 miles South On 101 and I rode to the site.

It is wonderful to have friends like Marty and Deann.
