George Ledbetter, age 72, is riding his bicycle across America (again)
about 2,300 miles - This time to raise money for ChildHelp USA.
From Lincoln City towards Florence

Departed from the KOA Campground North of Lincoln City, Oregon and rode 72 miles terminating my ride 10 miles North of Florence Oregon. Met two young college men from France that were embarking on their first long distance bicycle ride from Vancouver, BC to San Diego. They were thrilled with the beauty of the Oregon Coast.

I also rode a few miles with a couple from LA that were also riding from Vancouver. BC to Mexico. I also rode with a man from Canada that is on the same path as the other three people. I have seen two other couples that appear to be riding along the same route.

It was very cold this morning with fog covering most of Lincoln City. I stopped at a coffee shop to see if the weather would improve before starting off on my ride. The fog started to lift about an hour later and I made a decision to continue on my ride for the day.

The wind was blowing really hard making riding a bit unstable. I didn’t see any of my new friends lying along the road, nor did anything happen to me. It just made for a lumpy ride for most of the day.

It is such a pleasure to be abler to enjoy the scenery along the ride. I stopped at several places to take photographs of different areas that I would probably not have seen from the the front seat of an auto traveling 60 MPH along the road.

I have taken many photos and have been unable to load them on my web page. The web master is working on this and should have a fix soon. I would love to share some of these photos with those of you that are following my ride.
