Across the Columbia River

June 28th 06

Started my ride today 6 miles from the Astoria Bridge across the mighty Columbia river. It was a great day for riding with temperatures in the mid 70’s and the wind was blowing from the Northwest at about 15 miles an hour. Finished the ride 52 miles later slightly North of Nehlaem.

Every part of this ride was a treat. Wide shoulders for a safe ride ideal temperatures for riding and the wind cooperated very well. In addition to that I found a restaurant that featured fresh oysters for lunch Like being in hog heaven if you happen to enjoy fresh oysters! I do!

I spent the night at Nehalem Bay State Park another perk for the daY Exceptionally clean facilities and a quiet place to spend the night.

Miles for day: 52

Total Miles: 341

Update Location: Nehlaem, WA - Map this location

Good Samaritan of the Day: The wind at my back - Thank you!!
